A large health system in Pittsburgh, PA market, is seeking a provider to join the Division of Cardiothoracic Radiology. The ideal candidate would maintain a board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology and completed fellowship training in Cardiothoracics; participation in the ABR Maintenance of Certification for Thoracic /Cardiac Radiology or eligibility for such is required.
The department provides a wide range of diagnostic services, including plain film, chest CT (with cardiac CT, gated aortic CTA), TAVR and chest MR imaging (including cardiac MRI). Ability to do procedures including lung biopsies, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and radiofrequency ablation would be optional.
Equipment includes 11 CT scanners, including a 64 slice dual source CT, 128-slice CT, multiple 64 slice CT scanners, dedicated procedure CT scanners, and 16-slice PET-CT; computed and digital radiography; nine 1.5 Tesla magnets; up to date ultrasound equipment at all sites, mostly Philips IU-22 or HD-11 units.
The department supports a radiology residency with a complement of 27 residents and one fellowship position. The ideal candidate would maintain a passion for actively participating in the training program by way of clinical and didactic teaching to the residents and medical students. Additionally, the faculty participates in and is a valued member of a number of multidisciplinary conferences. As a campus of Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM), academic appointment to the DUCOM faculty are available.
