The Department of Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a full-time general radiologist to join its faculty. As part of a new, unique training program, this individual will have the opportunity to undergo additional training in cardiothoracic imaging, with dedicated time for advanced training in the more specialized areas of cardiothoracic imaging, including high resolution CT (HRCT), cardiac MRI and CT, and cardiothoracic related procedures. Although the position will primarily focus on cardiothoracic imaging, there will be opportunities to participate in other imaging subspecialties, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and desires. After two years, the candidate will receive a certificate of equivalent subspecialty training as a non-accredited cardiothoracic fellow and the opportunity to remain on the faculty in cardiothoracic imaging.
The ideal candidate will have keen clinical skills, interest in teaching and collaborative clinical service. Interest in research is welcomed but not required. Qualified applicants should be ABR-certified or eligible and must be eligible to practice medicine in Alabama.
