UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC), the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking a Fellowship-trained Cardiovascular and/or Thoracic Radiologist. The Department of Radiology at UMass Memorial Medical Center www.umassmed.edu/radiology performs over 900,000 studies per year, across five hospitals and an outpatient imaging center. Current faculty include 65 fellowship trained Radiologists, all practicing in organ or modality-based divisions, including a 24/7/365 Emergency Radiology Division. The department trains 5 Residents per year (20 total).
The main department and outpatient imaging center in Worcester have 7 MRIs, 7 CTs, including a Siemens Definition Flash CT and two new Siemens 128 Definition Edge CTs.
All sites are integrated into the same PACS system (AGFA) and EPIC EMR. We are about to implement the EPIC lung screening module and a lung screening navigator.
The cardiovascular and thoracic case volume currently includes approximately 500+ cardiac MRIs, 1,000 Cardiac CT/CTA examinations, 49,000 Chest X-Rays and 9,000 Chest CTs.
Our Cardiovascular and Thoracic imagers work closely with multidisciplinary teams in the hospital, allowing for numerous opportunities for clinical and research collaboration. Our division participates in tumor board, various grand rounds, shared clinical programs with the Divisions of Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery.
