The Department of Radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained radiologist to join the cardiothoracic imaging section. Applicants must be ABR board-certified or board-eligible. The successful candidate will join our group of 48 academic faculty and will be awarded rank commensurate with experience.
The cardiothoracic section is comprised of four faculty members who perform dedicated cardiothoracic imaging. Clinical duties include all aspects of thoracic and cardiac imaging, including radiography, CT, and MRI. Interventional procedures are not covered by our section. Daily work shifts are comprised of 100% cardiothoracic imaging, covering a wide range of pathology. There is no evening or night time requirements and call responsibilities are very infrequent and only include chest and abdominal radiograph interpretation. A partnership with an independent radiology services provides interpretive services and call coverage after hours and on weekends.
Our cardiothoracic radiologists work closely with multidisciplinary teams in the hospital, allowing for numerous opportunities for clinical and research collaboration. Our division participates in thoracic tumor board, interstitial lung disease conference and has a close collaborative relationship with the divisions of thoracic surgery, cardiology, pulmonary and critical care medicine and cardiothoracic surgery.
