The thoracic section of the Department of Radiology at UCLA has fellowship positions available for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years. This one-year thoracic imaging fellowship is designed to prepare graduating radiologists to be independent and proficient specialized thoracic radiologists.
The UCLA enterprise has expanded to include specialized centers as well as outpatient programs. This myriad of imaging allows for trainees to gain exposure and manage patients from various clinical settings and pathologies. The Thoracic faculty are actively involved with multiple clinical sections, and through our interdisciplinary approach to disease, we intend to have the training fellows improve their independent skills and patient care.
Our fellowship program provides three independent tracks, allowing fellows to supplement their training with electives in other specialties. These tracks include:
a.) Thoracic imaging and thoracic IR; this program consists of eight months of thoracic fellowship and four months of thoracic intervention.
b.) Elective in body imaging: this program consists of eight months of thoracic fellowship with four months of elective in abdominal/body imaging.
c.) Elective cardiovascular imaging and intervention: this program consists of eight months of thoracic fellowship with four months of elective cardiac imaging.
UCLA is located in West Los Angeles, a vibrant and diverse place to live, work, and raise a family. The area offers excellent schools and is a short drive away from the beach and the city’s many cultural landmarks, museums, and galleries.
