The Department of Radiology at the University of Florida has an opening for a 12-month Cardiopulmonary Imaging Fellowship starting July 1st, 2021. The Section of Thoracic Radiology is a full-service hospital based academic practice comprised of four dedicated Cardiopulmonary Imagers.
The Department of Radiology has state-of-the-art-imaging (including CR, DR, CT, MRI, and PET/CT imaging) in a complete PACS environment and performs > 450,000 exams/year (including approximately 80,000 chest radiographs, 75 interventional procedures and 8,000 CTs annually).
We have outstanding faculty, supported by world-class programs in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Lung Transplantation, Thoracic Surgery, Thoracic Oncology, and Pathology. At UF, there is a wide spectrum of both inpatient and outpatient referrals for an excellent pulmonary radiology experience with an exceptional depth and breadth of learning. There is an active interstitial lung disease clinic treating a wide range of both common and rare diffuse lung diseases with a very active transplant service. The fellow is encouraged to participate in the weekly multi-disciplinary ILD conference with pulmonary medicine, radiology and pathology. Additionally, we also work in close collaboration with surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and pathology in providing innovative and exceptional oncologic patient care with weekly multi-disciplinary tumor board conferences.
The Fellowship includes dedicated elective time in Cardiac Imaging, with elective time tailored to an applicant’s level of interest. In addition to didactic training, fellowship participants are expected to fulfill research and teaching opportunities. Thoracic interventional training includes fluoroscopically or CT guided procedures of pulmonary, mediastinal, chest wall and pleural lesions.
