The Department of Radiology & Radiological Science at the Medical University of South Carolina seeks candidates for the Division of Cardiothoracic Imaging at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on the tenure track. This individual will participate in all division activities including patient care, teaching and opportunities for clinical research.
The department provides an excellent working environment with a total of 45 residents and 11 fellowships, two of these dedicated to cardiothoracic. The division has a close working relationship and continuous collaboration with outstanding pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, cardiologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and subspecialists in other fields of medicine. Interdisciplinary conferences encompass a broad spectrum of comprehensive lung programs, including interstitial lung disease, COPD, lung cancer, lung cancer screening, and general pulmonary pathology. Advanced scanners and post-processing software are utilized to perform cardiac CT and MRI, including congenital heart disease. The department offers state-of-the-art imaging equipment in CT, MR and PET/CT modalities, allowing for cutting-edge research in these imaging procedures.
Successful candidates for this position must hold an MD or equivalent degree with completion of accredited cardiothoracic imaging fellowship training. Candidates must also be board certified (or eligible) by the American Board of Radiology. Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of South Carolina is also required.
