The UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is currently seeking qualified candidates for two full-time Cardiothoracic Imaging faculty members preferably in the Professor of Clinical “X” Series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor rank (commensurate with experience and credentials). Expertise in all aspects of cardiovascular and thoracic imaging is essential.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical “X” Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential criteria for appointment in this series. Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree. The applicant must be fellowship trained in Cardiothoracic Imaging and have a documented interest in research and teaching with excellent track record in scholarly activities. Candidates must be board-certified in diagnostic radiology and be licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California.
The candidates will be involved in interpreting chest radiographs, cardiothoracic CT and MR and chest CTA and MRA. The candidates will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary meetings with cardio-pulmonary medicine, infectious disease, and pediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. Participation in week night and weekend calls in rotation with other cardiothoracic division members is expected. The department has state–of- the- art equipment including clinical 3T and 1.5T MRI scanners. The cardiothoracic division at UCD may provide cross-sectional interventional service.
