Chest/Thoracic Radiologist – Medical College of Georgia (MCG)
Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor
The Department of Radiology and Imaging at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University, Georgia’s premier health sciences university, is recruiting a full-time Chest/Thoracic Radiologist. The candidate should be board certified in Radiology and preferably fellowship trained in Chest/Thoracic Imaging. Academic rank is commensurate with experience. For the individual with appropriate experience and leadership skills, there is the potential for appointment as Section Chief. Responsibilities will include a combination of patient care and teaching of medical students and residents in a busy tertiary and quaternary care center. Academic time is provided and new research projects are encouraged. Academic rank is commensurate with training and experience.

The main campus , including AU Medical Center and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, is equipped with 2 IR rooms, three CT scanners (256 and 128), three MRI scanners (3T and 1.5 T), Nuclear-Medicine, PET/CT, 3D mammography, adult and pediatric fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and routine X–ray equipment. Our free-standing imaging center, AU Health Imaging, is equipped with 2 MRI scanners (3T and 1.5T), 1 CT, 3D mammography, Ultrasound and digital x-ray.
MCG is one of the largest medical schools in the USA and ranks in the top ten public medical schools in basic science grant revenue per faculty member. MCG and its teaching hospitals provide postgraduate education to nearly 500 residents in 44 different programs. Augusta University is a public research university and part of the University System of Georgia and has satellite medical campuses in Savannah, Albany, Rome, and Athens (note: there are no responsibilities for this faculty position at these sites). The large medical campus offers excellent core facilities including cell and small animal imaging as well as numerous resources to help support your investigations.
