Academic Remote/Teleradiology & On-Site Thoracic Imaging Opportunity Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, Cardiothoracic Imaging Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, University of Utah
Description:
The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a radiologist who is interested in interpreting thoracic imaging studies for our department, either remotely via teleradiology and/or on-site. Flexible work hours. The candidate is expected to provide clinical services and education for trainees. Opportunities to participate in quality improvement, value initiatives, and research projects abound. Academic appointments will be at a rank commensurate with training and experience.
Qualifications:
Candidates should be American Board of Radiology (or equivalent) certified or eligible. Fellowship training (or equivalent) in thoracic imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, or body imaging would be beneficial. Applicants must be eligible for a Utah medical license. Outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite.
Facilities and Institution:
The Cardiothoracic Imaging section provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Institute (an NCI-designated premier cancer center), and multiple outpatient centers along the Wasatch Front. Cardiac imaging is a shared service with colleagues in the Department of Cardiology. The Department offers an outstanding residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and a cardiothoracic imaging fellowship program. Extensive imaging resources, including multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI, and PET-CT scanners are available for clinical work and research. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET-MRI and 7T MRI, are also available. Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from the sources described above, as well as the world-class unique support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR) in the Department. UCAIR offers international expertise in imaging sciences, including basic sciences, physics and engineering, MRI research, and CT and PET research. The University of Utah Health Sciences offer various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members.
